These are the highlights of the course structure:
In the first semester, the student will do two courses: Quantitative Design Research Methods and Qualitative Design Research Methods.
In
the first semester, the student will also do two electives in the chosen area
of specialization. One elective will be from IDC and the other from outside
departments. Each student in consultation with his faculty advisor will
finalize the elective courses independently.
In
the first and second semesters, the student will do a minor project. This
project will have a research orientation or a combination of design orientation
and research orientation. It is expected that the output of the minor project
will be published as one paper in a juried conference or journal.
In
the second semester, the student will publish his work in the form
of a monograph.
