Krishand, an alumnus and adjunct faculty at IDC School of Design, IIT Bombay won the Rajat Kamal award for the Best Film on Environment Conservation/Preservation at the 69th National Film Awards for the year 2021, for his film Aavasavyuham (Malayalam).

The film also won the following awards:  Kerala state award for the best film, Kerala state award for the best screenplay, FIPRESCI at iffk, NETPAC at iffk, Padmarajan award for best film, Padmarajan award for best screenplay, JC Daniel award for best film, Kerala state Film Critics award for the best film and official selection at New Generation Indian Independent Film Festivals, iffk (international competition), RIFFA 2022

About the film:

The fragile ecosystem of 'Puthuyvype' a small island in Kochi, the exotic migration of birds to the mangroves, the fisherman and the impending danger from a petroleum company has contributed to Joy's metamorphosis. Locals recall in a tale mixed with myth, divinity and disturbing ecological disruptions 'Joy' may not be just an ordinary man. 

The film is a superhero origin film spoken in the backdrop of the ecological exploitation of humans.
