Dr Dinesh Katre (VC batch 1990-92), won the NDSA Individual Innovation Award 2019 which will be conferred during a ceremony at DigiPres Conference on 16 Oct 2019, Tampa, Florida.
The National Digital Stewardship Alliance (NDSA), hosted by theĀ Digital Library Federation, is a consortium of more thanĀ 220 partnering organizations, including universities, professional associations, businesses, government agencies, and nonprofit organizations, all committed to the long-term preservation of digital information.
NDSA began as an initiative of NDIIPP, Library of Conference (LoC), Washington D.C.
This award is an international recognition for his notable contributions to the development of technological solutions in this domain since 2008, as part of the Indian National Digital Preservation Program (www.ndpp.in), which was started by Dr Katre.
NDSA recognized Dr Katre's concerted efforts to build a complete ecosystem for digital preservation by setting up "Worlds first ISO 16363 Certified Trustworthy Digital Repository" in India in 2017.
