ePGD IxD stands for “e-Postgraduate Diploma in Interaction Design". The ePGD IxD programme consists of 8 prescribed courses. Each course has a certain number of credits associated with it, which vary from 6 to 12, listed below. These credits are based on the number of lecture hours, tutorial, lab, project hours, and self-study hours. When you pass a course, you earn those credits and a grade. When you earn 36 or more credits, you can claim an e-Postgraduate Diploma in Interaction Design from IIT Bombay (see a sample ePGD certificate here).
IIT Bombay fees for the ePGD IxD courses depend on the number of credits. Currently, course fees are ₹ 1,22,272 for a 6-credit course, ₹ 1,63,029 for an 8-credit course, and ₹ 2,44,543 for a 12-credit course (including GST). If you register for 36 credits for your ePGD IxD, the total course fees will be approximately ₹ 7.34 lakhs. You only need to pay fees when you register for a course (i.e. you don't pay fees for the whole ePGD IxD programme in advance).
